Have a nice trip Colin, when you go. I'm sure Allan is very pleased that you found something on his webs...ite. I hope you'll be able to visit your Grandfather's Uncle's memorial.
Good luck Christina with sorting out your family tree. It's not easy! I use the genealogy program Brother's Keeper http://www.bkwin.org/ which has a free trial download to "try" & sort mine out. Read More December 13, 2008 at 8:31pm •
Christina Cairn-Duff Clarke yes i have been on Alan's website and I have seen the names of some of my ancestors. I was trying to get them all figured out. Who the fathers and sons were and the birthdates and everything. I have alot of it written down now I just have to get it onto my computer. I really liked his website. December 13, 2008 at 4:17am •

Leanne Cairnduff Hi Christina
Welcome to the group! I guess I must belong somewhere along the line, to the branch that eventually came to Australia. My husband Colin who is also a group member was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Have you had a look at Allan Cairnduff's website http://allancairnduff.tripod.com/
where he has done an exc...ellent job of putting a lot of the Cairnduff families together. Allan is a member of the group too, so he may reply to you separately. Thanks for such an informative post. December 12, 2008 at 2:20am •

Hello from Canada. My Great-great Grandad was James S. Cairnduff. He came to Canada from Ireland (might have been Scotland). I have been trying to find notation of him arriving in Canada. My understanding is some Cairnduffs migrated from Ireland to Australia or Canada. So we are the Canadian branch. My ancestors ...settled in and around Peterboroug, ON. I was on ancetors.com and was able to construct part of my family tree. The problem I have is alot of my relatives have similar names (like Ann for mother and daughter) and also some brothers married sister-in-laws etc so it is hard to figure out who is who. Alot of the men in the family didn't have sons so the name is dying out on my side. My brother and his son are the only Cairn-Duff's left of my dad's line. We started out without the hyphen but in the 1930's when my dad lived in Kelowna. BC a hyphen appeared. I am trying to find notations of this also. So if there are any Canadian Cairnduffs who think they might be relatedRead More

Hi everyone. I was trying to find more about my family history, but haven't had the chance to talk to my dad or my uncle yet. My grandparents were William and Loretta Carnduff. I did look at Allan Cairnduff's website and I think it was them I found on there and 1 of my uncles. My dad, Daniel Carnduff is 1 of 4 boys.... I can update more about my family when I talk to my uncle. Thanks for inviting me...this is fun to see all the Carnduffs and Cairnduffs!Read More

Leanne Cairnduff Hi Breanna
One of these days I'll get across to Canada to see all the lovely sites for myself. In the mean time it's nice to look at the pictures & dream. My Siberian Huskies would surely love all the snow. We don't get snow where I live, they have to be content with the beach. :-)
